Whether you are new to the trucking industry or are a veteran driver, team truck driving jobs offer benefits that solo truck driving jobs simply can’t.
Team truck driving jobs provide drivers the opportunity to earn a higher income. In most cases, teams of two that can effectively manage their time can run more miles than a solo driver. Trucking companies typically incentivize team drivers by paying them additional cents per mile. The reason for this is simple. If a trucking company can get the same production from one truck with a team rather than two trucks with solo drivers, their profit margins can significantly increase.
Team driving also allows drivers to share in daily tasks (i.e. pre-trip inspections) thus, saving time and energy. Sharing the burden of the load with another driver allows teammates to utilize each other's strengths and avoid costly mistakes. And, of course, there is the added advantage of having somebody to talk to on the road.

Team driving jobs can be a great option for many drivers, but it’s not for everyone. Belonging to a team means you always have to keep the other person in mind. Working as a team driver means coordinating breaks, time off, and even meals, if necessary. Keep in mind that team drivers are also required to share limited cab space.
