Job Description:

  • Route/activity: Safe, professional, on time direct store delivery. Drivers must assist in pallet count and in live unload using an electric pallet jack. Routes average 270 miles and 3-5 stops per day in the New England area. A hazmat endorsement is preferred, but not required. Candidates would need to start the hazmat process within 30 days of hire and would be reimbursed for all associated costs.
  • Shift: PM start times with some AM dispatch available. The work week will average 45-55 hours in a 5 day work week, routes are Monday through Friday.
  • Equipment: Day Cabs with 28', 48’ & 53’ Dry Van Trailers, and lift gates
  • Compensation: Activity Base Pay ($.55/mile, $24/stop) and other great wage incentives such as delay pay, 6 paid holidays, paid training, and $2,500 Annual Safety Bonus. Drivers are paid weekly.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Driving your assigned truck safely and responsibly.
  • Following all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
  • Loading, unloading, or assisting in loading and unloading truck. 
  • Reporting problems with your truck, as well as accidents, traffic violations, and damage before and after route.
  • Acting as the main point of contact with your customer.

Requirements:

  • CDL Class A License required.
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Reliable
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Focused on safety
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
