In today's world a hazmat endorsement is required to haul many more products than you might think. Some of these items include these and other items: air bags, auto parts, batteries, dry ice, cosmetics, household cleaning products, frozen foods, office supplies, pharmaceuticals, perfume.

Hazardous materials are broken up into 9 classifications:

  5. Oxidizers

  2. Radioactive material
  3. Corrosives
  4. Miscellaneous.

Because of strict rules and regulations regarding hauling hazardous materials, a special HAZMAT endorsement is required to work these HAZMAT driving jobs. HAZMAT drivers are in demand. In addition, companies generally offer higher wages to those who are willing to drive a truck hauling hazardous materials.
